Hardwick is now in National Trust care and is the perfect spot for a bite to eat and a stroll in the grounds. Also on the estate you will find Stainsby Mill, where you can experience life as a 19^thcentury miller and have a go and grinding flour!

If you head to the Derbyshire border between Mansfield and Chesterfield, you will find Pleasley Pit and Country Park. Here you can find exhibits and relics of the coal mining heritage of the area. With steam engines, mining shafts and more affording an informative peak back into the industrial heart of yesteryear, Pleasley is well worth a visit. And with the history lesson sorted, enjoy the lovely surrounds of its pretty nature reserve.

You can leave your car at the launch site as this is where your ballooning experience will finish.

The Flight

Landing

After an unforgettable hour ballooning your pilot will begin your descent towards a gentle landing. Once back on the ground, and should you wish, you can help in packing away the envelope (that’s the official name for the fabric canopy).

With the balloon all packed away, you will be transferred back to your launch site where you can sip on the fine stuff and raise a toast to an unforgettable adventure hot air ballooning over Derbyshire.
