At first glance this looks like nothing more than an access track; but is in fact Cleaven Dyke – a manmade earthwork about a mile and a quarter long – which for many years it was thought to be a Roman road or boundary fortification but is now generally recognised as a Neolithic cursus or processional way, which dates back to around 3600BC. With so much natural and cultural splendour on offer, is it any wonder Scotland is considered one of the best ballooning locations anywhere? The main departure point is from Larghan Victory Park on the outskirts of Coupar Angus. There are also always other sites nearby in Perthshire that can be used to get you aloft though if you need them. Always make sure that you check your voucher details and again when you book in, for the latest launch site details, as they can change depending on weather and site suitability.
